This blog has been sadly neglected...I know, I know it has been months, but that's not because I'm not creating, or doing anything to blog about, it has just been a little too busy to keep up with multiple blogs, websites, kids and ...
So to make up for my absence, here are a couple of magazine call projects that didn't get picked up ...just in case you're wondering why I'm celebrating Halloween and the Holidays earlier than usual.
Keep in mind that while I'm primarily a Stampin' Up! user, this blog is meant for my non-stampin' up projects. If you're all about SU please visit my primary blog here .
So, the first project is a fun and festive Halloween card. This card does use Stampin' Up! card stock and ink, We R Memory Keepers designer paper and Inkadinkadoo Clear stamps. You can view this card for purchase along with others over at my Etsy shop here .
AND this 2 pc project for holiday fun. A matching card and altoids size gift tin. This would be a great set to use for a gift card or other small trinket. The designer paper and stamps are from PaperTrey Ink,the chipboard and embossing powder is from Stampin' Up!, bling is from ACMoore.
I appreciate your stopping by today - enjoy and I'll try to be better about sharing some fun ideas here at Ink Happy Thoughts!

Inspiration
Well inspiration comes in many forms. Sometimes from a challenge like the one on SCS today. But, coincidentally this one was already in the works. I was at ACMoore yesterday and they had all of their St. Patrick's Day decor etc. on sale, then I saw a bunch of $1 stamps from Studio G - so cute, then some gorgeous paper by Basic Grey. Today's Inspiration Challenge was the perfect excuse to use my new finds.
What do you think?
Details:
Studio G stamps
Vanilla, Old Olive, Black cs
Old Olive classic ink, Old Olive marker
Basic Grey dp
CuttleBug embossing folder
SU corner rounder punch, Marvy scallop punch
Coluzzle
Paper Piercing tool
Ribbon Originals - Theater

Flowers with Butterfly Kisses
The ways to use it challenge calls for us to use flowers today. I think any flowers will do, but it seems that embellishments are the intent.
Today I'm using the floral butterfly from Butterfly Kisses by PaperTrey Ink - another set I haven't reached for in a while. I created a bit of a "shabby" card by distressing the edges of the designer paper, zig zag sewing on the dp layer, torn paper and not sure if you can see it or not but the organdy ribbon has been crinkled with the heat tool.
Details:
Butterfly Kisses (floral butterfly) by PaperTrey Ink, Floral BG stamp from Stampin' Up!, Celery designer BG paper SU (has a leafy/flowery feel), Celery and Brown Primas topped off with a Build a Brad from Stampin' Up!, retired narrow organdy ribbon (so miss this), Celery, Caramel and Close to Cocoa classic inks.
Hope this inspires your creativity today! Happy Stamping!

Boho Valentine
Geesh, it's been a while since I've posted to this blog. Between the holidays and much of my focus being on other things lately, I've neglected to make time for my non Stampin' Up! goodies.
So that brings me to today's post. This was created for the Split Coast Stampers sketch challenge today. Love all of the layered panels and possibilities with a sketch like this. I've been wanting to use my Cerise designer paper so I thought perhaps it would make a good Valentine card. I think this paper lends itself to a monochromatic card - I had trouble finding anything I wanted to pair with it other than Real Red and Vanilla.
The stamp set is one I purchased a while back from My Favorite Things - Boho Blossoms - there are two large hearts in this set, both are so pretty, but this one was a bit easier to work with since I wanted to make a cut out of it.
Details:
Vanilla Base layered with Cerise dp, Vanilla stamped with small flowers and hearts from the My Favorite Things set Boho Blossoms, heart is from this set too - pretty, huh? Stampin' Up! En Francais and Alphabits sets, retired heart eyelets from SU, hodge podge hardware, large oval, small oval, 1/4" square and photo corner punches all from SU. Finished this off with vanilla grosgrain and a little red organdy with white polka dots.
